Healthy Classroom Toolkit

SNAP-Ed New York is pleased to offer the Healthy Classroom Toolkit, a free resource designed to help teachers incorporate wellness into the classroom. The activities are ready to use and encourage students to build healthy habits around food and physical activity.

This self-guided resource includes:

  • Quick physical activity brain breaks to keep students energized and focused.
  • Ideas for healthy snacking and celebrations.
  • Tips for using non-food rewards and positive messaging.
  • Strategies for modeling healthy behaviors in the classroom.

The toolkit was designed with busy teachers in mind and provides practical tools to support a healthy classroom environment. Establishing and maintaining healthy eating habits, along with engaging in regular physical activity, has far-reaching benefits, including improved attendance and reduced behavioral problems, as well as achieving greater academic success in school.

Please feel free to share it with colleagues or networks who may find it useful. Thank you for supporting healthy classrooms.
